How art gives shape to cultural change

1)  I choose to talk about the photography of the statue at 10.23 minutes. It show a colonist, white dressed, with colonian hat, a short white beard and a pipe. It’s the archetypal of the colonist and is sit astride a strange creature, with the hindquarters of a horse and a head of an African who looked a decapitate head of a colonist he hold in is hand. When I saw this picture i said “wow, it ‘strong!”, it’s really show the mood of colonization. The Colonist thought the African were just like animal and the African, well, the statue hold a colonist head I thinks it’s clear enough.

2) Art is a mean of expression, when artist felt culture change; they try to restitute that feeling by art. We just have to look in the past, each generation create their own form of art to express the change.  So, according to me, art is a really good general indicator of culture change and museums are essential to our society. When we going to the museum, we saw old picture and when we saw new picture we have benchmark to understand them. It’s really important I think, but in general people think museum are just boring….It’s sad.

3) Think about artists, not as content providers,.... but again as real catalysts (for change)
We always said artists are more perceptible compared to the rest of humanity, they felt the change and theirs work try to materialize this little change in a pictures (or anything else) and, if it’s accomplish, it’s like a shock for the guy who looked this pictures. A good artist can make understand why something it’s stupid and why we need to change that. That why artist doing some art who charmed, or shock people, for making the society change . They are not only a content provider, but they act as a catalyst for the society.
