How art gives shape to cultural change

1)  I choose to talk about the photography of the statue at 10.23 minutes. It show a colonist, white dressed, with colonian hat, a short white beard and a pipe. It’s the archetypal of the colonist and is sit astride a strange creature, with the hindquarters of a horse and a head of an African who looked a decapitate head of a colonist he hold in is hand. When I saw this picture i said “wow, it ‘strong!”, it’s really show the mood of colonization. The Colonist thought the African were just like animal and the African, well, the statue hold a colonist head I thinks it’s clear enough.

2) Art is a mean of expression, when artist felt culture change; they try to restitute that feeling by art. We just have to look in the past, each generation create their own form of art to express the change.  So, according to me, art is a really good general indicator of culture change and museums are essential to our society. When we going to the museum, we saw old picture and when we saw new picture we have benchmark to understand them. It’s really important I think, but in general people think museum are just boring….It’s sad.

3) Think about artists, not as content providers,.... but again as real catalysts (for change)
We always said artists are more perceptible compared to the rest of humanity, they felt the change and theirs work try to materialize this little change in a pictures (or anything else) and, if it’s accomplish, it’s like a shock for the guy who looked this pictures. A good artist can make understand why something it’s stupid and why we need to change that. That why artist doing some art who charmed, or shock people, for making the society change . They are not only a content provider, but they act as a catalyst for the society.

Humor and society

a. What according to you is the central idea of the speech ?
It’s not easy to answer this question, the humorist talk about a lot a different subject:  women position’s in society, conditionment and problem of the society. I think she’s try to highlight the incoherently and stupidity of our modern society and she hope the people will realize that with her draw.
b. Do you agree with it ?
I’m truly agree with her, now, with the television and all the other media we always have an image of “perfection” under the eyes and a thousand of voice said “If you dress like that, if you behave like that, if you wear this perfume, If you thinner, taller, prettier, you will be happier !” Like if there only one good way to live his life. It’s stupid I think and when I saw the draw of Liza Donnelly and said “that’s exactly that!”.
c. Would you agree with Donnelly when she says that the sense of humor changes according to one's culture ?

In fact, I don’t have the answer and I didn’t even know if someone had one. If think the subject of the joke change according to the culture but I also think people like to laugh of the things they share. Human are human and they have things in common, so they always find a way to laugh together.

Never give up

I want to talk about the Britannic artist, Stephen Wiltshire, he is a forty-five years
old and he’s an autistic. So, he has serious problem for communication, oral or
not, and for social interaction. Most of the time, the autistic can’t act
normally with the other people. But sometime the autistic develops some amazing
capacities.
Stephen Wiltshire has an eidetic memory, also call photographic memory. He has the ability to memories something, a picture or a book for example, in the smallest details during years. Once, Wiltshire overflies New York in helicopter and after he draw in five day a picture of the city of six meters with an incredible accuracy. He didn’t even forget one building!  Now, he is nicknamed the “human camera” for this performance…
When I think I’m not even capable to remember the birthday of my parent’s!

About me...

Hi there !
If you’re there it’s probably because you’re lost… or you‘re the english teacher. So ill try to introduce myself in few words…First I don’t really like speak about me and second my parent’s named me Natacha…That it.
What? It’s little too short? Okay, okay.
I born in Ardeche in 1991, so I’m 19 years old now and I have an older brother and a twin sister, Meije. We lived in the most beautiful village of the world during 11 years. Suddenly, my parents decided to move in Guadeloupe, an island in the Caribbean Sea. Everybody said it’s a wonderful place but I never liked, it’s was a boring place in the middle of nowhere. Now, I’m in Grenoble for studies and I’m really happy of that.
I like reading, cooking, doing nothing, going to the cinema, eating, sleeping, play video game, doing some joke to my sister, swimming, play with my cat, doing a lot of stupid thing, climbing, drawing, doing some joke to my poor sister and talking about a lot of stupid thing .
Well, what can I said now ?
